Yanbin (Tracy) Xu

Welcome!

I’m a Fritz Family Fellow at Georgetown University’s Knight–Georgetown Institute (KGI).

I study how institutional and platform rules—and the infrastructures behind them—shape who can build and use skills, and how those choices scale into productivity and regional development. I combine structural spatial-equilibrium models with applied microeconometrics. I earned my Ph.D. in Economics at Georgetown and received the Razin Prize for my job-market paper on China’s hukou system.
